Welcome everybody to the semester of Interventional Medical Images Processing as you can see professor
Hornegger is not here today.
So I will replace him today and tomorrow and yeah let's start with the
Interventional Medical Images Processing.
So who of you already attended 심 password listening class last semester?
So, okay.
That's good because we will
do a few repetitions from
the specific today and tomorrow.
All right. So first of all,
as an introduction,
what is intervention medical image
processing all about and
what can you expect by this lecture?
So we frequently ask questions.
First of all, usually students ask
if you can ship the lecture time.
That's not the case.
But as you can see, we will record all the lectures.
And so you can look them up in the internet.
Second, is DIMEB required to attend IMF?
As I said, yes, it is.
Usually, you have to take care of that by your own
that you get the stuff which was required by DIMEB.
As I said, as I'm replacing Professor Hornig buddies.
And tomorrow, we will do a little reputation
for example, SVD.
But it's not meant that you primary
are here to get something to know about IMMAP,
but for IMMAP.
OK?
So do I need to know MATLAB?
Yes, you should.
But if you do not yet, then you will.
So usually in the first week, we'll
provide you some tutorial where you
will teach you how to use MATLAB or the basic commands.
What can you do with MATLAB.
As I'm doing the lecture today, I
that I will give here in the lecture a Mudloop intro.
And instead of that, we will skip the tutorial
and the exercises.
So if you already looked up on the internet on the exercise
pages, there is an assignment where
you can have a tutorial.
You can also solve this tutorial using the slides which
I give you.
And we will also put the solutions of this tutorial
online.

This lecture focuses on recent developments in image processing driven by medical applications. All algorithms are motivated by practical problems. The mathematical tools required to solve the considered image processing tasks will be introduced.
